Horsham, PA, December 21, 2007Relevante, Inc., a leading provider of Accounting & Technology Solutions, is pleased to welcome Deborah A. Bacon, CPA, to the company. Deborah joins the Relevante consulting team as a Managing Consultant, leading its Audit Practice. At Relevante, Deborah will oversee audit projects, manage delivery quality and technical review, manage project budgets, and manage audit practice client relations for Fortune 1000 and mid-cap clients. Additionally, she will participate in audit proposals, scope definition, define appropriate methodology, and prepare audit plans and programs.

 

“Deborah brings tremendous senior management experience that covers a vast range of industries along with many value added functionalities,” said Brandon Weinstock, Director of Project Consulting at Relevante. “Her auditing expertise will ensure strong advancements for Relevante in a very critical area,” he added.

 

Deborah has over 23 years of experience providing audit, accounting, tax, consulting and advisory services to entities in various industries including: manufacturing, distribution, not-for-profit organizations, health care and educational institutions, property managers and developers, governmental units and agencies, and retail and insurance businesses. She has specialized expertise in auditing not-for-profit organizations.

 

Prior to joining Relevante, Deborah served as a Senior Manager for BDO Seidman, LLP. There, she provided audit, accounting, advisory and due diligence services to numerous industries including: not-for-profit, manufacturing (domestic and international), distribution, railroad, radio broadcasting, mortgage financing, and insurance and healthcare.

 

She is a frequent speaker on topics including not-for-profit financial statements, cost allocation plans for financial and tax reporting, internal controls and fraud, technical not-for-profit and governmental updates, and OMB Circular A-133 and Yellow Book audits. Deborah has authored recent articles entitled Frequent Single Audit Deficiencies and The Effects of Senate Bill 1205, Act 141, on Accounting, Financial Management and Planning for Not-for-Profit Organizations. Upcoming presentations include: Presenting Financial Information to the Public – What Do Your Reports Say? and Cost Allocation Plans for Not-for-Profit Financial and Tax Reporting.

 

Deborah received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Villanova University, graduating cum laude, and holds a Certificate of Educational Achievement in Not-for-Profit and Governmental Accounting and Auditing from American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
